CTOS today hosted the Petaling Jaya edition of CTOS SME Biz Day 2026  at One World Hotel, welcoming more than 1,500 SME founders, business owners and decision-makers  alongside representatives from government agencies, financial institutions, and technology partners. The event  was officially opened by YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II Malaysia.

CTOS SME Biz Day 2026 is the first of three city editions, with Penang and Johor Bahru to follow later this year.  The event brings together the policy, financing and technology ecosystem that Malaysia’s micro, small and  medium enterprises depend on, in a single, accessible platform.

In his opening address, YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan reaffirmed the centrality of MSMEs to  Malaysia’s economic agenda, noting that MSMEs account for 97% of all business establishments, provide 70%  of national employment, and contribute approximately 48% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product, valued at  approximately RM652 billion in 2024.

If we want a strong Malaysia, we need strong MSMEs. It is that direct. The Government’s commitment  to Malaysia’s small businesses is not seasonal. It is structural.

YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II Malaysia

The Minister highlighted ongoing Government initiatives to strengthen the SME ecosystem, including the  expansion of financing access through the Bank Negara Malaysia Fund for SMEs and SJPP guarantee  schemes, the SME Digitalisation Grant administered by SME Corp Malaysia, and the ongoing rollout of e invoicing under LHDN. He also referenced the Consumer Credit Act 2025 as a foundational piece of legislation  strengthening the credit and financial protection framework for businesses and consumers.

The Minister noted the role of credit data infrastructure in supporting financial inclusion, observing that when  credit information is accurate, accessible and trusted, lenders can make better decisions, and businesses with  healthy credit histories can access financing on fair terms.

In his Welcome Address, CTOS Group CEO Mr. Ankur Sehgal framed the event around three priorities that the  company hears consistently from business owners across the country.

What does this economy need to work better for them? The answer starts with information. We are  the intelligence layer that sits behind transactions across Malaysia’s economy, making it possible for  businesses to extend trust with confidence, and for small businesses to be seen, evaluated, and  financed on the basis of fact.

Mr. Ankur Sehgal, Group Chief Executive Officer, CTOS Digital Berhad

This year’s event introduced a new Funding Pavilion, a dedicated space where SMEs could have direct, walk in conversations with banks, equity crowdfunding and peer-to-peer financing providers, government-linked  guarantee schemes, and advisory firms. Participating financial institutions included BSN, Maybank Islamic,  RHB, Standard Chartered, SME Bank, OCBC, CapBay, Funding Societies, microLEAP, MoneySave and SJPP,  among others.

The Main Conference featured keynote sessions, panel discussions and speaker presentations across topics  including SME policy and government support, digital transformation, AI adoption, compliance and credit health,  and entrepreneurship. Marquee Speaker Khairy Jamaluddin opened the conference programme, followed by a  full day of sessions spanning government agencies, technology providers and Malaysian entrepreneurs.

CTOS Introduces CMX: Credit Intelligence for Malaysian Businesses

CTOS used the platform of SME Biz Day 2026 to introduce CMX, the next generation of CTOS Credit Manager.  CMX is a credit portfolio management platform designed to help businesses monitor customer risk, make  smarter credit decisions and protect their cash flow.

For years, credit intelligence of this kind has largely been the domain of banks and large financial  institutions. CMX changes that. It puts powerful, real-time credit risk tools directly in the hands of  business owners, helping them extend credit with confidence, protect their cash flow, and make  smarter decisions about who they do business with.

Mr. Ankur Sehgal, Group Chief Executive Officer, CTOS Digital Berhad

CMX is built around three enhancements: a modernised, intuitive user interface with streamlined dashboards;  AI-powered decision support tools to help businesses monitor portfolios and identify risks earlier; and enhanced  monitoring and eTR capabilities for more timely alerts and actionable intelligence. CMX is targeted for full launch  by end of 2026, with capabilities being introduced progressively throughout the year.

A Wide Ecosystem of Partners

CTOS SME Biz Day 2026, Petaling Jaya was supported by a broad partner ecosystem. Strategic Partners  included Microsoft, Samsung and Unifi Business at Platinum tier; Amazon Web Services, CelcomDigi and Zoho  at Gold; and MDEC and Maxis at Silver. Sunway University served as Lifelong Learning Partner. Supporting  agencies included LHDN, MATRADE, MDEC, SME Corp Malaysia, SJPP and SAMENTA.

National Series Continues in Penang and Johor Bahru

The Petaling Jaya edition is the first of three city events in the CTOS SME Biz Day 2026 national series. The  series continues with:

• Penang — 28 July 2026 | Setia SPICE Convention Centre | Guest of Honour: YB Steven Sim Chee  Keong, Minister of Human Resources Malaysia

• Johor Bahru — 8 September 2026 | Austin International Convention Centre
