Muiz Hot Chicken began as a small roadside stall that earned an initial profit of just RM20.
More than a decade later, the homegrown fried chicken business has expanded to over 180 stalls and five restaurant outlets, recording RM45 million in total sales.

Its founder, 33-year-old Muhamad Muizzuddin Remle, is now preparing to take the Malaysian brand overseas, with plans to explore the markets in Brunei and Singapore.
Muiz Hot Chicken Started From A Small Street Stall
Muhamad Muizzuddin’s journey in the food business began when he worked at his aunt’s stall as a beverage attendant.
After gaining experience, he was trusted to manage the fried chicken section. This gave him the confidence to start a business of his own in 2013.
He opened a small roadside stall called Crispy Fried Chicken along Jalan Temenggong Ahmad in Parit Raja, Muar, using his aunt’s recipe.
However, he did not stop there. He later developed his own spice mixture and rebranded the business as Muiz Hot Chicken.
The early days were challenging. His initial profit was only RM20, an amount so small that he nearly gave up on the business.
Eight Months To Perfect The Recipe
One of the biggest turning points came when Muhamad Muizzuddin decided to create a recipe that matched his own standards.
“It took me eight months to refine the recipe,” he said.
According to the founder, the quality of the ingredients and spices became one of the main reasons customers continued returning to Muiz Hot Chicken.
He explained that he is particular about food, which motivated him to keep improving the recipe until he was satisfied with its taste.
His attention to quality eventually helped the brand stand out in Malaysia’s competitive fried chicken market.
Over the years, Muiz Hot Chicken expanded through a stall-based business model, allowing it to reach customers in different parts of the country.
Selling 1.14 Million Pieces Of Fried Chicken

Since beginning operations in 2013, Muiz Hot Chicken has sold an estimated 1.14 million pieces of fried chicken nationwide.
The company now operates more than 180 stalls, supported by five full-sized restaurants serving a wider range of meals.
Its restaurant menu includes more than 10 meal sets, including fried chicken, nasi lemak, burgers and porridge.
The growth helped Muiz Hot Chicken record RM45 million in total sales, a major achievement for a business that began from a simple roadside setup.
Muhamad Muizzuddin said the expansion was mainly self-funded. He also received financing assistance from Tekun Nasional and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara).
Muiz Hot Chicken Plans Its First Drive-Through
The company is now preparing to open its sixth restaurant in Sungai Merab, Bangi, Selangor.
The new location will be the first Muiz Hot Chicken restaurant to feature a drive-through facility, offering customers a faster and more convenient way to purchase their meals.
The planned outlet reflects the company’s move from operating mainly through street stalls towards building a more established restaurant network.
It could also help Muiz Hot Chicken compete in a market currently dominated by larger local and international fast-food chains.
Exploring Brunei And Singapore

Muhamad Muizzuddin’s next ambition is to introduce the brand to customers outside Malaysia.
Rather than immediately opening permanent outlets, Muiz Hot Chicken plans to participate in food events in Brunei and Singapore in 2026.
These events will allow the company to study the market and customer response before deciding whether to open permanent outlets in both countries.
If the response is positive, the company could proceed with plans to establish its first international branches.
This cautious approach could help Muiz Hot Chicken understand local preferences before making a larger investment overseas.
Challenges That Tested The Founder
The journey was not without personal and business challenges.
Apart from nearly giving up after earning only RM20 in profit, Muhamad Muizzuddin was also involved in a car accident three years ago. The vehicle, which was purchased using his savings, was nearly declared a total loss.
Fortunately, he and his wife were not injured. Although the incident was a major setback, he continued building the business.
His achievements later earned him several recognitions, including the Food and Beverage Industry Entrepreneur Icon Award from Mara and the Youth Entrepreneur Excellent Award from Halal Development Corporation Bhd.
From Parit Raja To The Regional Market

What began as a small stall in Parit Raja has developed into a multimillion-ringgit Malaysian food business.
With over 180 stalls, five restaurants and RM45 million in total sales, Muiz Hot Chicken is now entering another important stage of growth.
Its upcoming drive-through restaurant and planned market testing in Brunei and Singapore could bring the brand closer to becoming a regional name.
For young people who want to enter business, Muhamad Muizzuddin offered a simple piece of advice: “Always be patient.”
He also encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to develop a genuine interest in their chosen industry before starting a business.
The Muiz Hot Chicken story shows how a modest beginning, persistence and careful product development can grow into a nationwide business with ambitions beyond Malaysia.
