Perodua has reduced Axia prices by up to RM4,700, making Malaysia’s most affordable compact car even more accessible to buyers.
The revised prices take effect immediately and cover four variants in both Peninsular and East Malaysia. According to Perodua, the reductions were made possible by improvements in its internal processes and operational efficiency.
Axia 1.0G Receives The Biggest Reduction
In Peninsular Malaysia, the Axia 1.0G now costs RM33,900, down from RM38,600. This gives buyers a saving of RM4,700, the largest reduction across the range.
The 1.0X is now priced at RM38,500, following a RM1,500 reduction from its previous price of RM40,000.
Meanwhile, the 1.0SE has been reduced by RM1,000, bringing its price down from RM44,000 to RM43,000.
The highest-specification 1.0AV now costs RM49,000, which is RM500 lower than its previous price of RM49,500.
All revised prices exclude insurance.
Axia Prices Also Reduced In East Malaysia
Customers in East Malaysia will benefit from the same price reductions, although the selling prices remain higher than those in Peninsular Malaysia.
The Axia 1.0G is now priced at RM35,900, down from RM40,600. The 1.0X now costs RM40,500, compared with RM42,000 previously.
The 1.0SE has been reduced from RM46,000 to RM45,000, while the 1.0AV now costs RM51,000, down from RM51,500.
The older-generation Axia 1.0E, which comes with a five-speed manual transmission, remains available at RM22,000 on the road without insurance.
Better Efficiency Made Lower Axia Prices Possible
Perodua said the lower prices were achieved through continued improvements in operational efficiency. The company is passing these savings directly to its customers amid current economic pressures.
“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians,” Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said.
He explained that Perodua had worked closely with local suppliers and other partners in the automotive industry to improve processes and manage costs more efficiently.
The company also thanked its vendors and dealers for supporting its cost-efficiency initiatives, which are expected to benefit customers and the wider Malaysian automotive industry.
Specifications And Quality Remain Unchanged
Despite the lower prices, Perodua confirmed that the Axia will maintain its existing specifications and quality standards.
The company stressed that the price reductions were achieved entirely through process improvements and operational savings. No features or quality standards were removed to lower the selling prices.
The current model is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine, producing 67hp and 91Nm of torque. It uses a D-CVT automatic transmission and offers fuel efficiency of up to 27.4 kilometres per litre, depending on the variant and driving conditions.
As Malaysia’s most affordable car, the Axia has long been a popular choice among first-time buyers and families seeking practical daily transport.
By passing its operational savings to buyers, Perodua is strengthening the Axia’s position in the affordable-car market while helping more Malaysians manage rising living costs.
