What started as a humble discovery during the construction of a modern Islamic education centre in Rantau, Negeri Sembilan has grown into one of Malaysia’s most promising health-focused beverage brands. Bubbles O2, the country’s only naturally oxygenated mineral water, has made its mark not just through innovation, but through a deep-rooted commitment to wellness and community.
The Accidental Birth of Bubbles O2

The story begins in 2018 during the development of Kompleks Al Ammar – a modern islamic education centre; spearheaded by Yayasan Al Ammar. It is a non-profit endeavor providing free education to underprivileged children. While preparing the site in Kampung Kanchong, construction workers noticed a natural spring emerging from the earth.
Lab tests confirmed the spring’s uniqueness: the underground water contained good mineral content with more than 100% dissolved oxygen, a rare phenomenon even by international standards. Recognising its potential and symbolic significance, the founders saw it not merely as a resource, but as a divine gift.
“It’s a blessing meant to be shared.”
By 2019, Bubbles O2 Sdn Bhd (formerly Al Ammar Water Sdn Bhd) was officially established to explore and commercialise the water source. What began as a CSR-inspired mission quickly evolved into a purpose-driven brand, grounded in faith, health, and the desire to uplift society standings.
Naturally Oxygenated, Not Engineered
In an industry where most oxygenated waters are artificially enhanced, Bubbles O2 is one of the few brands that offers mineral water naturally high in dissolved oxygen content. This distinction is crucial, especially for health-conscious consumers looking for more than just hydration.

“Our tagline says it all: ‘Premium Water, But Affordable,’” says Managing Director Ain Azizah Arifin.
“We’re offering Malaysians the best of what nature provides without overpricing it or over-processing it.”
While Bubbles O2 appeals to all Malaysians, their focus is clear: those who care deeply about what goes into their bodies. From busy working mothers to athletes, from wellness influencers to retirees with health concerns, the brand has resonated with people seeking real, tangible benefits from what they drink.
“Oxygen plays an important role in bodily functions, and high-oxygen water is said to boost energy, recovery, and focus,” Ain explains.
“We get regular feedback from customers who say they feel more refreshed after drinking our water. It’s incredibly rewarding.”
Riding a Wave of Growth Post-Pandemic
When COVID-19 hit, many businesses struggled. But for Bubbles O2, the pandemic served as an unexpected catalyst.
“People started to think more seriously about their health. They began questioning what they eat and drink. That shift in mindset gave our brand a new relevance,” Ain recalls.

Since then, Bubbles O2 has recorded 80% year-on-year growth. In 2024, the company closed at RM17 million in revenue. For 2025, they’re projecting a stunning RM35 million.
Their monthly sales now average 3.5 million ringgit, with an average of over 2 million bottles sold per month, stocked across over 5,000 retail outlets including 7-Eleven, Petronas Mesra, Aeon Big, and many more.
Though proudly Malaysian, Bubbles O2 has already made its way abroad. The brand has expanded into Brunei, Dubai, and the United States, with Brunei emerging as its most successful export market so far. The team is now setting sights on South Africa, and Europe.
But expansion hasn’t come easy. “Each country has its own set of regulations, lab tests, and certifications,” Ain shares.
“It can take up to a year just to break into a single market. But we’re doing it carefully, the right way, not the fast way.”
Championing Health Through Sport

A brand built on wellness naturally found its way into sports. Bubbles O2 is a proud sponsor of Le Tour de Langkawi, one of Malaysia’s largest sporting events. Their support includes not only funding but also the provision of Bubbles O2 water to every cyclist, team, and staff member throughout the race.
Beyond cycling, the brand has sponsored events under National Sports Council (MSN), Sepang International Circuit (SIC), and the Malaysian Football League (MFL), aligning itself with the nation’s top-tier athletic moments.
Their impact doesn’t stop with the athletes. During Le Tour de Langkawi, Bubbles O2 extended its CSR initiatives by donating nearly 1,000 bottles of water to underprivileged families along each race route. The company also set up booths to engage with the public, host hydration education sessions, and reward loyal fans with gifts and giveaways.
“In everything we do, sponsorships, exports, or CSR, our goal is to inspire healthier living,” Ain says.
A Business Rooted in Social Good

What makes Bubbles O2 different isn’t just the water; it’s how they choose to do business. The company employs over 160 staff, many of whom come from local communities in Negeri Sembilan. But their efforts go even further as they collaborate with the Malaysian prison system to offer rehabilitation opportunities to licensed parolees, providing training, jobs, and a second chance at life.
“This is part of our DNA,” Ain further clarifies.
“We want to be a business that lifts people up. we believe everyone deserves the chance to grow.”
This people-first approach extends to leadership. While the board includes experienced professionals in their 40s and 50s, Bubbles O2 makes it a point to mentor young talents, ensuring that the next generation is equipped to lead with heart.
“We believe in blending wisdom and youthful energy. That’s how you build something that lasts.” she adds.
A Clear Future Ahead for Bubbles O2
Some brands are built in boardrooms. Others, like Bubbles O2, are born from the earth, rooted in faith, raised with care, and carried by purpose.
From a quiet spring in Rantau to shelves around the world, this Malaysian brand proves that when purpose meets perseverance, even the smallest discovery can ripple into something extraordinary.
