Chryseis Tan is the daughter of a famous tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan, who founded Berjaya Corp Group. She holds several positions at The Berjaya Group.

1. Chryseis holds several positions at The Berjaya Group

The daughter of Tan Sri Vincent Tan holds several positions at The Berjaya Group, where she is on the board. She is the director and the chairman of Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd, and an executive director of Berjaya Land Bhd. She is also currently head of marketing for Four Seasons Hotel and Residences, Kyoto

Tan said she has always been interested in business. In an interview with First Classe, she said she was ready to work even before she graduated. For Tan, her business tycoon father is one of her biggest inspirations. “He always tells us to be persistent. Even if you think your business is failing, don’t give up. He always tells us that we just have to persevere and try to make the best out of the situation.” 

2. She launched her own skincare brand, LUMI Beauty during the pandemic

LUMI Beauty is a project that she launched in 2020 during the pandemic in a bid to create an affordable skincare range that utilises high-quality ingredients. The line includes products like Vitamin Glow Super Serum and Rose Brightening Moisture Mask.

As someone who knows what she wants and likes, beauty is something that she is personally passionate about and she feels strongly about the brand.

3. A real foodie

Outside of Berjaya Group, she is also the owner of a string of restaurants. Tan founded The Curate Group. The Japanese dining establishments created under the group include Bar Shake, Hide, Park Grill and Sushi Ryu. She is looking at adding four more outlets under the group.

Having completed her tertiary education in Japan, her love for Japanese cuisine gave her the idea to start the Japanese restaurant Sushi Ryu and its sister cocktail bar Bar Shake in Malaysia.

Besides, she also invests in Hong Kong-based online fashion and beauty marketplace Goxip. Goxip is an online marketplace for searching, discovering and purchasing fashion and beauty products.

4. She enjoys travelling

She is grateful that she gets to mix travel with work with her family’s hotel business. She loves to share her jet-setting lifestyle with her followers on Instagram.
