Malaysia’s live events industry has received a strong boost. The Concerts and Events in Malaysia Incentive (CEMI) 2026 is now officially open, offering financial rebates to support the organisation of large-scale concerts and major events featuring both local and international artists.

The initiative is spearheaded by MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd (MyCreative) and reflects a continued national commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for world-class entertainment and live experiences.

CEMI 2026: RM10 Million Allocation for 2026

For 2026, CEMI has been allocated a substantial RM10 million to support eligible event organisers. The programme operates as a financial rebate scheme, helping to offset production costs while encouraging organisers to deliver events that meet international standards in scale, quality, and impact.

This structured support reduces financial risk for organisers while enabling them to bring in bigger productions, larger audiences, and higher-value experiences.

Positioning Malaysia as a Regional Events Destination

CEMI is strategically designed to strengthen Malaysia’s reputation as a destination for international-class concerts and major entertainment events. By supporting high-impact productions, the initiative aims to drive tourism, consumer spending, and cross-sector economic activity.

Large-scale concerts generate ripple effects beyond ticket sales. Hotels, airlines, restaurants, transport providers, production crews, vendors, and security services all benefit. Through CEMI, Malaysia is reinforcing the idea that live entertainment is both a cultural asset and a powerful economic driver.

Strong Track Record of Economic Spillover

The impact of the programme is already evident. The CEMI 2025 edition generated RM39.48 million in economic spillover, supported by RM8.96 million in approved funding across eight large-scale concerts.

These figures demonstrate how strategic incentives can produce multiplying economic returns, stimulate job creation, and elevate Malaysia’s global entertainment profile.

Applications Now Open For CEMI 2026

Event organisers planning large-scale concerts and major productions in 2026 are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and submit their applications through MyCreative’s official portal here.

For industry players looking to bring high-profile artists and international-standard productions to Malaysia, CEMI 2026 represents a timely and strategic opportunity.

With RM10 million in allocated support and a proven economic impact, the programme sends a clear signal that Malaysia is serious about becoming a leading destination for major live events in the region.
