Beryl’s Chocolate is one of Malaysia’s sweetest success stories. What began as a modest local chocolate manufacturer has grown into a proud Malaysian brand whose products are now enjoyed in more than 15 countries around the world.

The Early Journey of Beryl’s Chocolate

The story of Beryl’s Chocolate began in 1995, when founder Ting Sii Liong established the company with a simple but ambitious goal: to produce chocolates that could stand proudly alongside international brands.

The company’s first factory was located in Desa Serdang, a small town south of Kuala Lumpur. In its early days, the focus was on manufacturing consumer packed chocolates for duty free outlets and supermarkets across Malaysia.

From the beginning, the company emphasised quality and careful product development. This dedication quickly helped Beryl’s Chocolate build recognition among Malaysian consumers who were looking for premium chocolates produced locally.

As demand grew, the company moved in 1998 to a larger facility in the Seri Kembangan Industrial Area. The relocation allowed production to expand and new product lines to be introduced, marking an important step in the company’s growth.

How Beryl’s Chocolate Expanded Its Production

Growth continued steadily over the following years as Beryl’s Chocolate invested in expanding its manufacturing capabilities.

In 2008 and 2013, the company opened additional factories in Seri Kembangan and Bangi, Selangor. These new facilities enabled the brand to scale its operations and serve both retail consumers and the food service industry.

By 2023, Beryl’s Chocolate has achieved a new milestone by expanding their retail presence to more than 20 outlets across the Klang Valley, Melaka, Johor, Penang and Singapore.

Today, the company produces far more than chocolate bars alone. Its product range includes cookies, wafer rolls, and a variety of confectionery treats, giving customers a wide selection of indulgent products.

With over 200 varieties of chocolate and confectionery items, Beryl’s Chocolate has grown into one of Malaysia’s most diverse chocolate manufacturers while continuing to refine its recipes and production techniques.

The Craft and Innovation Behind Beryl’s Chocolate

At the heart of the company’s success is a philosophy built around passion, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail.

Beryl’s Chocolate became the first Malaysian owned chocolate manufacturer to obtain both HACCP certification and halal certification. 

The halal certification issued by JAKIM assures Muslim consumers that the products meet strict halal compliance and production standards.

For many Malaysians, this certification adds an extra layer of trust. It reinforces the brand’s reputation as a chocolate producer that values both quality and responsibility in its manufacturing process.

Beryl’s Chocolate Growing Across Global Markets

From its beginnings in a small factory, Beryl’s Chocolate has gradually expanded its presence across international markets.

Today, the brand’s chocolates can be found in over 15 countries, including Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Macau, and the Philippines. These markets reflect growing international interest in premium chocolates from Asia.

Consumers increasingly appreciate the brand’s distinctive flavour combinations and the craftsmanship behind its products.

In addition to manufacturing chocolates, the brand has also started exploring new ways to bring its products closer to consumers.

Recently, Beryl’s Chocolate opened its first café at Sunway Pyramid in Selangor, introducing a new concept where customers can enjoy chocolate based desserts and drinks made directly from the brand’s own chocolate.

The café offers handcrafted beverages, cakes, and desserts, including an exclusive dark chocolate soft serve that is available only at this outlet. Visitors can also sample different handmade chocolates that highlight a range of flavour profiles.

For many fans who grew up enjoying the brand’s chocolates at home, the café offers a fresh and immersive way to experience Beryl’s Chocolate.

The Future Vision of Beryl’s Chocolate

Nearly three decades after its founding, the journey of Beryl’s Chocolate continues to evolve.

The company remains focused on producing premium chocolates that reflect the creativity and craftsmanship of Malaysian confectionery. 

Through ongoing investment in product development, quality control, and customer experience, the brand continues to strengthen its reputation both locally and internationally.
