Apple is back again with the launched of iPhone 12. Indeed, the rumours of the all four lineup of iPhone 12 models are true – the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and lastly, iPhone 12 Pro Max. The Apple Malaysia website also unveiled the official local price tag starting from RM 3,399. Here’s everything you need to know about the new tech specs and features:
1. iPhone 12 Mini
The new Apple iPhone 12 mini is powered by a Apple A14 Bionic CPU processor with 64GB NVMe. The iPhone model also has a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR OLED (1080 x 2340 pixels, 476 ppi) display. It has a Dual: 12 MP, f/1.6, 26mm (wide), 1.4µm, dual pixel PDAF, OIS + 12MP rear camera and supports Wifi, NFC, GPS, 3G, 4G LTE and 5G.
2. iPhone 12
The next model in the Apple iPhone lineup is also getting the same colours, chipset, camera module and memory capacity. However, the iPhone has bigger screen – it has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display as compared to the mini version.
3. iPhone 12 Pro
The entire iPhone 12 series supports 1080p FaceTime calls. Apple has finally heeded calls to improve the resolution of its native video calling app—to Full HD. Besides, the iPhone model has the extra LiDAR sensor for detecting lighting distance, 6GB of RAM (according to sources), starting from 128GB storage, and a change of colour models – graphite, silver, gold and pacific blue.
4. iPhone 12 Pro Max
Last but not least, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the biggest model in the lineup, no doubt. Its Super Retina XDR display measures 6.7-inches which is bigger than the previous models. The storage space is the same as the pro variant, with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
However, Apple will sell charger and EarPods separately
In a move to reduce waste and packaging efficiency, Apple will stop bundling its charger and earphones for new iPhone models. Meaning, if you buy any one from the iPhone 12 models, you’ll only get a USB-C to lightning cable.
Anyway, Apple is currently offering its new 20W USB-C Power Adapter for RM 99 and it supports fast charging for the current iPhone lineup. Apple has also made its charger more affordable as the previous 18W USB-C Power Adapter which was priced at RM 149.
Furthermore, if you want the original wired Apple EarPods with a lightning connector, Apple is currently selling it for RM 99 which is RM 30 cheaper than before.
