Updated the staff on the issue through Webinar.

They decided to conduct Rapid Test on every employees on the same day since they have keep some Rapid Test Kits in the office for a worst case scenario like this. Within minutes, results were then sent to their company’s group chat and identified the cluster was among staff working on the same floor.

Later at 5 PM, Dato Michael did a live video on the company’s FB group to address the news to all staff and making sure they isolate themselves from their family and friends until results were out. However, he ensured all the staff keep calm and gave them a few scenarios what will happen and how to handle it.

Day 2: PKT office closed

The next day, all 534 staff came to the office to do their swab test. By 11 AM sanitisation process started at the whole area. The first results came out later in 7 PM and followed by the second batch in 11 PM.

Day 3: All result were out and confirmed positive cases were sent to KKM

By 5 PM all results came out. They activated PKT Crisis Team Webinar chat and informed those tested positive to stay at home and quarantine. The designated lab sent confirmed positive cases to KKM. Dato Michael did live video again at 7PM to inform those who didn’t get a phone call from the company, meaning they were tested negative. The positive cases were all came from the same department. The crisis team continued to work on contact tracing and to ensure those close contact with positive cases must self-quarantine for 14 days although tested negative.

Day 4: Sanitisation and contact tracing

pkt

They contacted with KKM investigating officer. The KKM were surprised they did swab for everyone promptly and it made it easier for contact tracing process. The rest who didn’t have close contact with the positive cases can go back to work as usual. The premise has been sanitised thoroughly and the experience taught them the SOPs to handle Covid-19 crisis in workplace

Day 5: Implements stricter SOPs based on the experience

Even though it was Saturday, the crisis team still continued to discuss over Webinar on the corrective measures. They investigated how it spread internally from the patient. The company then created zoning within offices and warehouses to avoid future cross-contamination. They even implemented new and stricter SOPs. The office reopens on the following Monday.

Based on their investigation, they found out that these are the reasons of how the covid-19 spread across the staff in the same department.
