The new Mazda 3 is set to make its local debut in mid-July of 2019. It is a big deal for Mazda as it is the first in the company’s next-generation product line-up. Are you excited about the new Mazda 3 arrival? Read on to know more about it.
1. Kodo – Soul of motion
Mazda’s headlining ‘Kodo – Soul of Motion’ design was first introduced in the 2010 CX-5. It has essentially provided Mazda with the signature look. With the new Mazda 3, the carmaker has evolved the Kodo design to express a new form of elegance. The development team took to designing the Mazda 3 hatchback with its own unique appeal, distinctly different that it could even represent separate models.
2. Redefining SkyActiv Technology
The latest SKYACTIV VEHICLE DYNAMICS’ G-Vectoring control (GVC) enhances Mazda’s hallmark Jinba-Ittai – a feeling of oneness between car and driver. Equipped with best-in-class advanced safety technology; i-Activsense – it maximises driving safety while you stay focused on the road.
3. Stylish yet elegant exterior design
The design concept for the hatchback was on creating a solid mass with a seductive appeal that conveys a fresh expression of hatchback styling. The cabin and body come together to appear as a single solid mass. The result in Mazda’s expression is a “refined, mature expression of elegance.”
4. Less is more
The cockpit has been laid out in perfect horizontal symmetry with the driver in the centre. Mazda incorporated the less is more philosophy when it comes to the design. The climate-control panel and passenger-side louvres are integrated into the left-right axis that follows the line of the instrument panel. This provides a clean and simple design yet classy and elegant.
5. Powerful engine maximises driving safety
In term of engines, only two from the SkyActiv-G petrol range will be offered. The first is a 2.0-litre unit that develops 162 hp and 210 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the option for base variants will be a 1.5-litre powerplant with 114 hp and 150 Nm.
6. You can book the car now
The official distributor of Mazda in Malaysia; Bermaz is now accepting orders for the new Mazda 3. The car would be introduced in both hatch and sedan version. It is to be noted that initially the car would be sold as a fully-imported CBU unit.
Both the sedan and hatchback versions of the all-new Mazda 3 will be offered with estimated pricing said to start from RM137,000. The model available in Artic White, Meteor Grey, Sonic Silver and Deep Crystal Blue colour.
