Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced this morning the government has agreed to distribute a one-off RM100 e-tunai to be credited to all adult Malaysians earning RM100,000 and below annually.
He said the one-off aid amounting to RM1 billion is expected to benefit more than 10 million people in the B40 and M40 groups. This special announcement was made during the launching of the “Madani Economy: Empowering the People” blueprint of the country’s economic direction, today.

Furthermore, the prime minister also announced that the government will be giving a special appreciation aid amounting to RM300 to all civil servants of Grade 56 and below.
Besides, all retirees will be given a similar aid of RM200 – including those currently receiving their pensions including pension recipients issued under the pension law, EPF retirees who retire from public service and also pensionable and non-pensionable veterans.
He emphasised that the special appreciation aid will benefit 1.3 million civil servants, including contract appointments, and over a million retirees.
“With this special aid, we hope civil servants will continue to work diligently in supporting the government’s aspirations of implementing reforms,” he said.
The payment of the special appreciation aid is expected to be made within two weeks from now (27 July 2023).
In addition, Anwar also clarified that the government remains committed to streamlining the remuneration for civil servants and the review of the civil servants’ salaries and allowances is ongoing.
“Under the Madani Economy initiative, we strive to provide the best services possible and assist the government’s fiscal policies in making the streamlining of the civil servants’ salaries a reality,” he said.
