Bumiputera entrepreneurs looking for business capital may now apply for financing of up to RM1 million, with rates starting from 3.5% per annum for selected products. PUNB has allocated RM80 million through three specialised financing programmes expected to benefit 220 Bumiputera entrepreneurs.

The programmes aim to provide faster access to capital, strengthen business cash flow and help entrepreneurs expand their operations.

Three PUNB Financing Programmes Available

The three programmes introduced by Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) are:

  1. PROSPER GROW Biz Express
  2. PROSPER GROW Fuel Up
  3. PROSPER GROW Auto Biz

Eligible entrepreneurs can access competitive financing rates starting from 3.5% per annum on a flat-rate basis for selected products.

PUNB may also provide a principal payment grace period of up to six months, subject to assessment. This allows entrepreneurs to stabilise their operations before regular principal payments begin.

1. PROSPER GROW Biz Express

PROSPER GROW Biz Express provides an accelerated financing option for Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the following sectors:

  • Retail
  • Distributive trade
  • Manufacturing

The programme is open to businesses operating as sole proprietorships, partnerships or limited liability partnerships.

Financing ranges from RM100,000 to RM300,000.

Funds can be disbursed as early as 12 working days, subject to the submission of complete documents and a credit risk assessment.

This option is suitable for SMEs that require quick access to capital to purchase stock, manage operating expenses or capture new business opportunities.

2. PROSPER GROW Fuel Up

PROSPER GROW Fuel Up is designed specifically for Bumiputera petrol station operators.

The programme offers working capital financing of up to 100% for inventory purchases, helping operators maintain sufficient stock and ensure their stations continue operating smoothly.

Financing ranges from RM100,000 to RM1 million, with a tenure of up to seven years.

The facility can help petrol station operators manage cash flow more effectively, particularly when facing rising operating costs or fluctuating demand.

3. PROSPER GROW Auto Biz

PROSPER GROW Auto Biz targets automotive service centres operating under the organisation’s strategic partners, including PETRONAS AutoExpert.

Financing can be used to:

  • Purchase machinery and equipment
  • Acquire fixed assets
  • Strengthen working capital
  • Increase service capacity
  • Meet growing customer demand

Eligible businesses may apply for between RM100,000 and RM1 million, with a financing tenure of up to seven years.

Besides providing capital, PUNB’s strategic partners will offer training, marketing support, trade programmes and business development advisory services.

PUNB Wants To Help Businesses Capture Opportunities Faster

PUNB chief executive officer Izwan Zainuddin said timely access to capital could determine whether a business can capture a growth opportunity or is forced to delay its plans.

“The needs of entrepreneurs today are not only about securing an appropriate amount of financing, but also having an efficient process and a repayment structure that considers the realities of business operations,” he said.

According to Izwan, this approach allows entrepreneurs to act more quickly while maintaining financial discipline and protecting the long-term sustainability of their businesses.

PUNB Is More Than A Financing Provider

The three programmes reflect PUNB’s role as a business development partner, rather than merely a financing provider.

“Our objective is to build more resilient Bumiputera businesses that can grow in a structured manner and compete across broader value chains amid an uncertain global economy,” Izwan said.

He added that financing must be supported by a proper understanding of the company’s business model, sector requirements and the entrepreneur’s actual capacity.

This is important to ensure that any growth achieved can be sustained over the long term.

How To Apply For PUNB Financing

The initiative supports the Bumiputera economic development agenda and the inclusive growth aspirations of Ekonomi MADANI by expanding local participation, increasing productivity and building more sustainable businesses.

Entrepreneurs interested in the eligibility requirements and application process may visit the official PUNB website.
