The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving public infrastructure and affordable housing through the Sentuhan Kasih MADANI programme held across Negeri Sembilan from 16 to 17 July 2026. The two-day programme was led by Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, YB Datuk Hajah Aiman Athirah binti Sabu, focusing on modernising public facilities, strengthening community welfare, and creating safer, more inclusive, and sustainable neighbourhoods.

A key highlight of the visit was the official opening of the Kampung Panchor Open Hall in Sikamat. KPKT approved RM400,000 for the project, with a construction contract value of RM389,000. Completed within just 14 weeks, the multi-purpose hall features a steel structure, metal deck roofing, and epoxy-coated concrete flooring. It is designed to accommodate community sports such as pickleball and sepak takraw while serving as a social hub to strengthen community ties and neighbourhood unity.

As part of MADANI housing agenda, KPKT also visited Pangsapuri Rakyat Seri Perdana (PPR) Paroi to inspect infrastructure upgrading and maintenance works benefiting 340 families. The improvements include the upgrading of two existing refuse houses costing RM60,000, as well as repairs to shared property and drainage systems worth RM898,750. Altogether, the projects received a total allocation of RM958,750 to create a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable living environment for residents.

Through Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB), KPKT also announced that 1,589 Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) homes have been completed across Negeri Sembilan between 2022 and 2026. During the programme, YB Datuk Hajah Aiman Athirah presented house keys to eight recipients and offer letters to seven new beneficiaries in Kuala Pilah and Seremban, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to helping B40 families own safe, affordable homes on their own land.

The ministry also highlighted efforts by SWCorp to strengthen enforcement of the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007 through a compassionate yet firm approach. To date, 43 littering offenders in Negeri Sembilan have been sentenced to Community Service Orders, while initiatives such as Trash to Cash continue supporting Malaysia’s goal of achieving a 53% waste recovery rate by 2035.

“KPKT remains committed to ensuring that physical development goes beyond providing basic infrastructure by improving community well-being and strengthening social unity,” said YB Datuk Hajah Aiman Athirah binti Sabu. She added that the long-term success of public infrastructure, community facilities, and housing programmes depends on the collective responsibility of all stakeholders, including local communities, state governments, local authorities, and implementing agencies, in preserving these facilities for future generations.
