Does Your Company’s Incorporation Date Influence Its Feng Shui?

Some people believe that a company’s birth date, or official incorporation date, plays a major role in determining its Feng Shui outcome. After all, it sounds similar to astrology, right?

According to renowned Feng Shui master Alan Chong, this belief is mostly a myth.

What Feng Shui Says About Business Birth Dates

While some Feng Shui consultants or so-called masters may say that the incorporation date is important for energy alignment or business luck, this idea doesn’t come from traditional Feng Shui principles.

There are many examples of companies that chose “auspicious” dates to incorporate, only to fail months or years later. That’s because a good date cannot compensate for poor layout, or bad energy.

On the flip side, some highly successful businesses never consulted a calendar at all when registering, yet they thrived.

The belief in “business birth dates” is often borrowed from astrology, where a person’s date and time of birth shape their destiny.

But Feng Shui and astrology are not the same thing at all. They come from different systems, follow different principles, and do not overlap in this context.

What Actually Determines Your Feng Shui Potential?

When it comes to Feng Shui, what truly determines a business’s potential has nothing to do with when it was incorporated.

Feng Shui looks at how Qi (life force energy) moves in and out of your space. It’s about the interaction between your surroundings and the internal flow of energy.

Key factors include the direction your main entrance faces, the buildings, roads, or landforms surrounding your property, and the layout of your interior, where things like your cashier, stove, or main work area are placed.

Even the way energy circulates within a room can influence whether your space supports growth or blocks it.

These are the elements that shape your Feng Shui potential, not the date you signed your SSM papers.

So, What Should You Focus On Instead?

If you’re in the process of starting a business, don’t stress about picking a “lucky” incorporation date. In Feng Shui, success isn’t determined by when you registered your company, it’s shaped by how energy flows through your physical space.

Where your desk, entrance, or cashier is placed can influence how smoothly your operations run, how customers interact with your business, and even how motivated your team feels. These physical elements are what truly matter in Feng Shui.

If you’re unsure where to begin, it helps to work with a Feng Shui practitioner who applies Qi-based principles; someone who focuses on the actual flow of energy, not just on decorations or lucky symbols.

So if you’re serious about using Feng Shui to support your business, focus on what you can see, feel, and improve; your building, your layout, and the energy flow within it.

Let Feng Shui do what it does best: help you create a space that supports growth, flow, and long-term success.
