When you think of TikTok, you probably picture dance challenges, viral recipes, and endless scrolls of entertainment. But behind the scenes, TikTok Shop has quietly been shaping Malaysia’s digital economy, and its latest move is its boldest yet.
On 24 September 2025, TikTok Shop unveiled the RM20 million #JomLokal Booster Stimulus Package, a powerful push to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) survive and thrive in today’s fast-changing online marketplace.
A Stronger Boost for #JomLokal
The package builds on TikTok Shop’s #JomLokal campaign, first launched in 2023, which has given thousands of Malaysian entrepreneurs the chance to showcase their products to millions of TikTok users. Think of it as a megaphone for local businesses, one that keeps getting louder.

“Since 2023, the dedicated resources and exposure provided to thousands of Malaysian MSMEs under our always-on #JomLokal initiative have consistently driven sustainable growth for Malaysian-made products,” said Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at TikTok Shop Malaysia.
“With the new RM20 million #JomLokal Booster Stimulus Package, we are deepening our commitment to maintaining an inclusive e-commerce ecosystem by reinvesting into Malaysia’s digital economy and supporting our local community.”
What MSMEs Can Expect from Tiktok Shop

So, what’s in it for local sellers? Eligible MSMEs, those with active product listings, fewer than 200 monthly orders, and under RM1,000 in gross merchandise value, will receive:
- RM1,000 commission fee waiver for up to 120 days
- RM50 advertising coupons subsidised by TikTok Shop
- Sponsored in-app ad placements on TikTok search banners
- Free access to TikTok Shop LIVE Hubs for up to 10 sessions (two hours each, with advance booking)
This additional support is dedicated to MSMEs already participating in the #JomLokal initiative and complements TikTok Shop’s broader New Seller Kickstart Program.
A Step Toward Malaysia’s Digital-First Vision

At the launch event, YB Senator Datuk Dr. Hajah Fuziah Binti Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), stressed that the move fits perfectly with Malaysia’s bigger picture.
“Malaysia’s vision of becoming a digital-first nation rests on the readiness of local entrepreneurs to embrace innovation. The #JomLokal initiative is a meaningful step in that direction,” she said.
Beyond Funding by Tiktok Shop

TikTok Shop isn’t stopping at financial aid. The package also includes upskilling programmes, such as Shoppertainment workshops, creator-matchmaking events, and weekly webinars. These are designed to help MSMEs master the art of digital storytelling, livestreaming, and content marketing, tools that can make or break an online business today.
By lowering barriers to entry and investing in long-term growth, TikTok Shop is positioning itself not just as an e-commerce platform, but as a partner in Malaysia’s digital transformation.
For small businesses, this package could mean the difference between getting lost in the noise and finding their place in the spotlight.
