What If Your Business Gets Worse After a Feng Shui Consultation?

You invested in a Feng Shui consultation, hopeful that aligning your space would bring good energy, positive vibes, and a boost in business. But instead of thriving, things seem to be going downhill.

Sound familiar? Don’t worry. According to renowned Feng Shui master Alan Chong, sometimes, the journey to balance and harmony requires patience, observation, and a little strategic thinking.

If your results aren’t lining up with your expectations, here’s what might be going on and what you can do to get back on track.

Give Feng Shui Time, but Stay Observant

First things first: don’t expect instant results. Like any major business adjustment, changes can take a few weeks or even a few months to fully kick in.

If things feel slow, that doesn’t necessarily mean something’s wrong. But if your business takes a sharp downturn right after the consultation, it’s time to dig deeper.

One common cause of sudden negative shifts is a change in the external environment. Just like your internal layout affects energy, so do the buildings and roads around you.

In one real case, a business saw great results after a Feng Shui consultation. Sales improved and things flowed better. But a few months later, everything slowed down again. Upon review, it turned out that a new condominium had been built nearby, disrupting the original energy flow into the business. After a few adjustments were made to compensate, sales picked up again.

The takeaway? Always consider how external changes like new buildings, renovations, or road construction can impact your energy.

If your business started strong but then dipped, your first step should be to reconnect with the original consultant. They’ll be familiar with your space and can reassess the setup based on current conditions.

Feng Shui Not Working? When to Get a Second Opinion

If you’ve waited 3 to 6 months and there’s still no noticeable change, or worse, your business continues to struggle, it may be time to get a second opinion. Not all Feng Shui consultants are the same, and methodology matters.

Be wary of consultants who focus too heavily on figurines, charms, burning rituals, or lucky symbols without grounding their advice in energy principles. These are often rooted in superstition rather than science.

The most effective Feng Shui is based on Qi; the flow of energy. Practitioners who use this approach focus on real factors like layout, direction, timing, and personalized energy patterns.

If your consultant insists on burning charms or placing random objects with no clear explanation, that’s a red flag. Good Feng Shui is grounded in understanding energy, not just tradition or superstition.

Here’s What to Do Next

  • If your business got worse from the start, don’t wait. Seek a second opinion quickly, preferably from someone who works with Qi-based methods.
  • If business improved at first but later declined, reach out to your original consultant. External changes could be affecting the flow.
  • If nothing changed at all, even after a few months, consider switching to a more experienced and methodical practitioner.
  • Always ask about the method being used. Do your research. A strong Feng Shui consultation should come with logic, structure, and clear reasoning, not just objects or rituals.

Feng Shui and Business Success

Feng Shui is powerful, but it’s not a magic wand. It’s a tool that works best when applied with insight, logic, and flexibility. Like any business strategy, it must adapt to change. If the environment shifts, your energy map needs to shift too.

So if things aren’t going the way you hoped, don’t throw this method out the window. Ask better questions, review what’s changed, and work with someone who treats it like a science, not a superstition.

With the right guidance and a little patience, your space can once again become a source of support, and your business a place where good energy flows and success grows.
