229 Capital L.P., a private equity firm specialising in IPO and capital market advisory, together with Univis Total Service Co., Ltd., a Japan-based M&A and corporate advisory firm, have announced plans to establish a joint venture worth up to USD 1 million. The collaboration, formalised following the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on 22 August 2025 and reaffirmed on 2 September 2025, highlights both parties’ commitment to building a stronger cross-border partnership.
The new venture will focus on building a dedicated mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and IPO targeting platform, aimed at supporting high-growth companies in their journey towards international capital markets. The platform will concentrate on identifying and targeting buy-and-sell opportunities in the M&A market while preparing companies for IPOs on major global exchanges, including the Nasdaq Stock Market and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
Under the MOU, 229 Capital will leverage its expertise in structuring and executing IPOs in the United States and Malaysia, while Univis will contribute its strong client network and deep experience in M&A transaction advisory across Malaysia, Japan and Asia.
The partnership is designed to:
- Identify and target buy-and-sell opportunities in the M&A market.
- Create a cross-border pipeline of IPO-ready companies.
- Enhance deal execution capabilities by combining Univis’s client access with 229 Capital’s capital market structuring expertise.
