What is covered under SME Corp’s Financial Assistance for Halal Certification?
This program covers all the necessary costs and fees associated with obtaining halal certification, including
- Cost of training for Halal Certification
- Fees associated with appointing a Consultant for Halal Certification
- Halal Certification fee
- Expenses related to product analysis (Lab test)
- Purchase of equipment pertinent to Halal Certification
Who can apply for this financial aid?
To qualify for this support, entities must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Possess a valid certificate of MSME Status
- Have applied for Halal Certification

The funding provided by SME Corp for eligible companies is based on a reimbursement basis. Full payment for the project must be made before submitting a claim. According to the website, the claim must be made using the Claim Form provided in the Letter of Offer and must include all necessary supporting documents, such as receipts and invoices, within the specified period from July 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023.
It’s important to note that only companies who have been approved and received the Letter of Offer are eligible to submit claims. The fund is limited to 40 companies that meet the eligibility criteria, or until the remaining funds are exhausted.
Besides, the Secretariat reserves the right to reject any applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria to ensure effective and efficient use of the funds. Interested companies are encouraged to carefully review the eligibility criteria and submit their applications promptly to secure their chance of receiving funding assistance from SME Corp. Malaysia.
