Starting next Monday, Dec 4, adults earning less than RM100,000 per year can redeem an RM100 e-wallet credit under the eMadani program. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim mentioned that this initiative would benefit 10 million adults, incurring a cost of RM1 billion.
The redemption period extends until Feb 20, 2024, and four e-wallet providers will participate in the program. The prime minister made this announcement while presenting Budget 2024 for a second reading in the Senate this week.
What is the e-MADANI credit?
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the introduction of e-Madani Credit, formerly known as e-Tunai, providing RM100 e-credit assistance to citizens aged 21 and above with an annual income of RM100,000 and below. This initiative, expected to benefit over 10 million individuals from both B40 and M40 groups, involves funds totalling approximately RM1 billion.

Which service providers are involved?
The four e-wallets participating in the program are Maybank’s MAE, Petronas’ Setel, ShopeePay, and Touch ‘n Go Wallet. The website has provided additional information on credit redemption. The claimed RM100 must be spent by 11:59 PM on February 29, 2024, which coincides with the last day for redemption. Any unused eMADANI credit balance will automatically expire from the applicant’s e-wallet after the deadline.
How to claim e-MADANI credit?
Step 1: Download any of the selected four e-wallets (Maybank’s MAE, Petronas’ Setel, ShopeePay or Touch ‘n Go Wallet) from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery.|
Step 2: For new or existing users, follow the instructions provided within the e-wallet application.
Step 3: The e-wallet service provider will electronically verify your identity through ‘Know-Your-Customer’ (eKYC).
Step 4: In your chosen e-wallet application, enter the required information on the eMADANI claim page and press “Submit.”
Step 5: You will be notified if the claim is successful.
Eligible recipients can only claim eMADANI credit from one (1) e-wallet service provider. Please refer to each e-wallet application for further information on redeeming eMADANI credit.
