The public will no longer need to file cases manually for the Tribunal for Homebuyers Claims (TPPR) and the Strata Management Tribunal (TPS). This transition is a result of the newly developed eTPS system by KPKT. Deputy Minister of Local Government Development, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, announced that this online system enables the public to conveniently register cases and make payments.
“eTPS system is tailored to enhance convenience and accessibility. This transformation aims to make the workflow not only more convenient but also more secure and time-efficient for all parties involved,” said Akmal Nasrullah during the opening of the Housing and Strata Management Tribunal (TPPS) Conference 2023 in Putrajaya.
The Housing and Strata Management Tribunal (TPPS) Conference will take place for three days from September 12th to 14th and aims to enhance the performance of TPPS services through a focus on procedural aspects, KPI achievement strategies, and issues related to cases, laws, and relevant acts. It also serves as a valuable platform for knowledge enhancement, particularly in the areas of legislation and housing.

In his opening speech, he mentioned, “This year alone, up to August 31st, TPPS has resolved 7,378 cases involving the Tribunal for Homebuyers Claims (TPPR) and the Strata Management Tribunal (TPS). Last year, a total of 12,006 cases were resolved, including all pending cases following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, KPKT is actively working on developing a comprehensive data collection system for affordable housing (RMM). This system encompasses housing projects initiated by both the private sector and state governments, catering to the demands and requirements of the target demographic.

He clarified the necessity of a coordinated effort in addressing the issue of affordable housing. “Setting targets without a clear understanding of the actual demand can lead to insufficiencies. There might be certain gaps in our approach.”
This initiative coincides with regulations that limit eligible citizens to purchasing only one affordable house. This measure is being enforced to ensure a sufficient supply of affordable housing, a crucial step toward addressing the pressing issue of housing affordability in the region.
