The MTE 2023 Advanced Healthcare and Life Sciences International Innovation Awards & Expo, which was held virtually from 9 to 11 August 2023, has concluded on a triumphant note, bringing together a diverse global community of experts, innovators, and industry players. The event, hosted by leading institutions and organisations, witnessed unprecedented engagement, fostering knowledge-sharing and innovation collaboration.
With a resounding success, the event hosted a remarkable total of 2,371 visitors from 10 different countries, showcasing the truly international nature of the platform. This gathering of minds offered a unique opportunity for attendees to explore groundbreaking advancements in healthcare and life sciences from the comfort of their screens.
The event also hosted a highly competitive awards program, with an impressive 89 entries submitted from participants representing 10 countries. The Awards Results Announcement, a highlight of the event, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE), Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and Lukanisman bin Awang Sauni, Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia (MOH).
The esteemed panel of judges, drawn from various countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, India, Thailand, Indonesia, and China, brought a wealth of expertise and perspectives to the evaluation process.
Among the most anticipated moments of the event were the announcements of outstanding innovation and special award recipients. Their contributions have not only pushed the boundaries of healthcare and life sciences but have also exhibited a commitment to improving global well-being.
A total of 37 Gold, 23 Silver, and four Bronze awards were presented. There were six winners of the Outstanding Innovation Awards and 18 winners of the Special Awards.

The three-day event also featured a comprehensive programme of knowledge-sharing sessions. This programme, in partnership with institutions such as Management Science University (MSU), National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM), Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation (MRANTI), Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM), and Sunway University, covered a spectrum of topics relevant to healthcare, research, and technological innovation.
