Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) allocates school aid worth RM70,000 to 700 primary school students and secondary in Shah Alam, Puchong, and Kota Raja in conjunction with the reopening of the school session this coming March.
At the ceremony, YBR Chairman, Datuk Wira Megat Zulkarnain Tan Sri Omardin presented a replica cheque worth RM70,000 to Datuk Azahari Dato Shaari, Advisor of Mawarku Shah Alam Club. Also present are Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani, Head of Operations Division, as well as Mohamad Ghazali Zainal Abidin Head of Communications Department in YBR.
Megat Zulkarnain said this contribution is also expected to help students in Selangor, especially those from the B40 family. He hopes the aids will be able to ease their financial burden in purchasing school supplies such as school uniforms, shoes, socks, and school bags for instance.
The Covid-19 pandemic outbreak that hit Malaysia over the past two years has impacted the economy in many ways. The one-off cash assistance worth RM100 for school students, hopefully, will be able to help parents to do early preparation for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR) has been helping a total of 39,397 students by providing schooling assistance with a total allocation of RM5.12 million since 2018.
