Just like how a hotel manager in Penang, Jeffrey Lim has begun selling food by the roadside in order to sustain the hotel, another hotel in Taiping and 5-star hotel in Melaka have now opened a little stall in front of their premises to sell economical breakfasts to stay afloat.
Hotel Grand Baron decided to sell affordable breakfasts by the roadside for the sake of continuing their business. As reported by Perak Press, the hotel in Taiping Perak, known as the Hotel Grand Baron started a food business for as low as RM1.
The hotel staff is seen holding a placard written “Lagi Lagi PKP” with a list of breakfast meals for as low as RM1
Based on the menu, you can buy Nasi Lemak for only RM2, fried chicken, fried noodle, roti john, ABC and many more.
Besides Hotel Grand Baron, another hotel which has been hitted hard by the coronavirus outbreak come up with an alternative way to keep its business afloat.

The hotel took to their Facebook page to promote their initiative. On the Facebook page, it wrote “Grab our ‘Nasi Bajet’ promotion exclusively during MCO at our drive-in street food fair located next to H&M. Prepared daily by our chefs, our “Nasi Bajet” promotion starts as low as RM2.”
According to Bernama, Hatten Hotel’s Head Chef, Badrol Hisham Mohd Ali said that the initiative was coordinated due to there being no customers staying at the hotel due to the MCO and led to their restaurant remained closed.
He added the response has been good with around 500 people visiting daily to buy Nasi Bajet. The budget-styled rice consists of white rice served with a piece of chicken or fish and some vegetables. The hotel also hs other side dishes such as ayam madu, ayam percik, cakes and cookies.
