As the name suggest, Chef de Cuisine Daniel Wong and his team offer some seriously satisfying dishes of fresh seafood and premium steaks that will be a treat for your senses. Chef Daniel who has 13 years of culinary experience under his belt.
He has worked in kitchen across Asia including Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and most notably, apprenticed under the acclaimed Chef Joel Robuchon. He headed the opening team for Opera Bombana Beijing, a sister restaurant to three other Michelin star restaurant and currently, he’s helming the flagship restaurant of Banyan Tree, KL.

Horizon Grill greets its customers with a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. Large ceiling fans and windows, giving the place an inviting atmosphere and classy feel. Restaurant goers can either dine in a stylish modern interior or go al fresco to enjoy the best of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline, with the KL Tower and Petronas Twin Towers just a glance away.
Santa Maria-style grill
The restaurant’s star is a Santa Maria-style grill, where they serve premium black angus beef which guarantees the most tender beef. The beef dry-aged for 30 days with herbs to bring up the flavour or you can go with Kyushu Japanese Beef or Goulburn Valley Beef that is wet-aged for 28 days.
The Degustation Menu that is only available during dinner time is a course of six dishes that is available at RM488. This menu can also be paired with a selection of wine from the restaurant’s wine list. It consists of Tuna Tartare, Lobster Salad, Egg Confit, Ricotto Of White Tortellin, Angus Beef Duo and Grilled Pineapple.

Going to Horizon Grill is not complete if you don’t try the beef. Horizon Grill offers two categories; Fullblood wagyu from Japan’s southwestern Kyushu island and pasture-fed cattle that graze in Australia’s southeastern Goulburn Valley.
The wagyu rib eye is fabulously flavourful and excellently executed. It has rich and robust intensity of both taste and texture. All steak cuts comes with one choice of complimentary sauce & side dish. You can pair your steak with any 5 type of sauces available.
For seafood lovers, you can try Fine de claire Oysters on the Half Shell, or Kaviari Oscietre. Ocean Quattro is perfect for sharing if you’re coming with a few friends.
The best part about Horizon Grill is they have a few mains that are specially made by chefs for sharing 2-3 persons. Which is nice if you’re coming with a group of people who are foodies.
The new addition of RM460 burger inspired by a recent “birthday drama”
Just recently, Horizon Grill is adding a new luxurious meal costs RM 460. Inspired by a recent expensive birthday drama, “The Real 460 Golden Burger” comes with truffle-flavored buns and genuine 24K gold leaves. The towering burger also contains Wagyu beef patty, foie gras, veal bacon, sunny-side-up eggs, fermented cucumbers, cheddar cheese, red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and fruity apple compote.
The restaurant will offer it to guests on a reservation basis throughout October. Diners will receive two glasses of wine on the house as complementary.
All in all, Horizon Grill has plenty of amazing cuisine and it has a beautifully decked dining space with splendid view of KL. If you’re looking for a new place to do date nights, this might just be it.
