The development of MySejahtera app began after MOH asked for assistance from the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA)
To help the Ministry of Health (MOH) in contact tracing people during the pandemic, MOH requested assistance from Nacsa and the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu) to assess an app developed by KPISoft Sdn Bhd that was to be made into a national-level app to monitor the spread of COVID-19 in Malaysia. Nacsa, NSC and Mampu found out that the app MySejahtera developed by KPISoft was the readiest for national implementation when compared to others offered to the government at that time.
