Quiton Group together with Online Enterprise Development Association and supported by strategic partner Malaysia Tourism Council and Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MyBHA) launched the Malaysia Virtual Expo Program 2020 as an immediate initiative to restore the travel industry in Malaysia in a creative way.
According to the Tourism Malaysia Domestic and Events Division senior director Datuk Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar, the online expo using the e-commerce platform is targeting RM1.2 million in returns to benefit the 640,000 small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in the tourism industry.
He further added that due to COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry players did not know which direction to head for and the measures they needed to take to reach their customers.
“It is a good effort and a good move to be in this platform, it is designed so that entrepreneurs will not be left behind when it comes to reaching out to potential customers and to conduct their business as usual.
He also hoped that all states would participate in the event and encouraged entrepreneurs to promote their tourism products, including their best holiday packages for domestic destinations.
The Malaysia Virtual Travel Expo 2020 will be organised for the first time for two days – 22 Aug & 23 Aug 2020 through an online event at www.mytravelexpo.com.
The expo would become a one-stop centre where customers can grab the best holiday package deals via the e-commerce platform. This would not only benefit hotel owners, but also other parties involved in the tourism economic chain such as hotel staff, food suppliers and those from the transportation sector.
Quiton Group chief executive officer Datuk Alvin Ooi who is the main organiser said customers who buy holiday packages from the expo will get to enjoy discounts of up to 50% if they pay through the Quinpay digital payment application.
Industry players interested in joining the expo could contact QuinPavilion Hotline at 011-37276395 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org from today until Aug 1.
