Best known as #AbangGincu, Dato’ Don Aiman, also known as Malaysia #1 lipstick king of all time, is without a doubt the most creative and innovative entrepreneur in Malaysia. Don Aiman represents a new generation of men who are brave enough to jump in a female-dominated industry.
“Nur’Asia was founded in 2017 when I decided to create a platform that would help me get into real business culture and to get to know real big shot in the industry. We began as an online business, selling lipstick for RM39 each. Little did I know, this small online-based company that I created managed to generate good income in only several months.”
Don Aiman, the mastermind
However, he was exposed to the business industry long before Nur’Asia was commerced. He worked with Malaysia Airlines System after completing his studies. He also used to work in automotive line which he spent a few years career with Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd. In the meantime, the 36-year-old entrepreneur was also doing several side businesses to make some extra money.
Born in January 23rd, 1984, Don Aiman said the experience was a lifesaver as he was trying to plan on his next career move – 100% focusing on business. His first official business was as a Telekom Malaysia dealer. The business was doing well for several years. Unfortunately, something happened which led him to announced the company closed down for good.
For some people, an obstacle might be the end for everything. But for Don Aiman, he took it as a golden opportunity that could change his life forever.
“If a problem arises, focus on finding a solution, not on the reason why everything was failing.”
With a small saving in his hand, he did not surrender and took another risk in business. He planned to own a food court restaurant but finance was the main problem. So what he did was he launched a free advertisement to find a tenant to rent space at his “non-existence” food court.
“The response was overwhelming and many potential tenants started paying the deposit. So, with that money, I finally got a “real” restaurant and renovated it into a food court,” adding that it was his first passive income that he has created.
How Don Aiman built Nur’Asia
“For Nur’Asia, I didn’t expect that I can go further as a lipstick entrepreneur. Not long after a good friend of mine, Datin Seri Vivian said ‘Don, your stuff is so good, I would pay you for it,’ That’s when I finally took action. After we released the first lipstick production, she decided to become our business partner for the next production,” he says.
Nur’Asia first collection is the collagen lipstick. In 2018, they released the second collection – nicely wrapped in a gold-theme packaging, dedicated to his sales achievement for the first collection.
Business collaboration with China manufacturer
Just last year, Nur’Asia secured a collaboration with one of China manufactures. The collection was named as ‘Love at First Sight’. It was a success and the products sold out in a second not just in Malaysia but in Thailand’s market too.
Asking the reason why he chose to venture in the cosmetic industry, Don Aiman shared that he’s obsessed with lip balm since he was young.
“As an avid lip balm user, I got the idea to create my own lipstick product and turn it into profitable money.”
Creating a platform to help the community generating passive income
As he was strengthening Nur’Asia brand in the market, he shifted his focus in creating passive income work. He created a resource to share what he learned during the business process and try to help others replicate his steps to generate passive income.
“Since the early stage of TEC (The Entrepreneur Circle), I’ve helped many people to get started with their businesses. TEC has succeeded in building 4 businesses in the first year operation.”
“TEC is a community platform where I will teach people on how to build online businesses that take advantage system of automation that allows transactions, cash flow and growth to happen without requiring a real-time presence. In other words, we don’t trade time for money. Within a few months, I managed to generate over RM 1,250 passive income. I recommend you to subscribe to this website www.theentcircle.com/home if you want to start making passive income.”
Giving back to the community
For Don Aiman, he believes in creating social impact. Since TEC was founded, he is able to give back to people as in helping and giving donations to schools, house of worships, NGOs and those in needs. He’s happy that he can help his associates in TEC to get their multiple streams of passive income.
Besides, his business has helped create jobs for unemployed people. His latest achievement was earning a spot in the Anugerah Personaliti Industri & Usahawan Malaysia 2018 by Niaga Times under New Business award category.
Final takeaways
His advice to all young entrepreneurs: Three things to focus at once, earn and make more money, manage wisely and build your wealth.
“Since we are still in a month of the festive season, I would like to take this season greeting opportunity to wish all to my associates, business partner and all my business networking, family, friend and also readers wherever you are; Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2020 and stay safe.”
