As you may have heard before, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) allow Malaysians to travel interstate but must be requested and approved via the Gerak Malaysia mobile app. The QR code permit policy is implemented to avoid anyone from doing the interstate journey without a valid reason.
Now, the Gerak Malaysia app allows businesses to create their unique QR code which will enable users to check-in via the app before entering the premise without the need to do it manually on the paper. This promotes efficient registration system and easier for Ministry of Health to contact tracing in case of positive cases occurred.
Here’s how to register QR code for your business premise via Gerak Malaysia
Business owners can download the Gerak Malaysia app and you’ll see the option to “Check-in” and “Apply for Business QR”.
Alternatively, users can also register at https://qr.gerakmalaysia.gov.my/. You just need to provide your business name, address, phone number and email address.
Once you’ve registered, you can generate a poster with your company name and QR code. The app will send a copy of the link to your registered email address. This app however, will not allow business owners to have access to the customer login details and it is saved only via the QR code provided.
As for customers walk-in to your business premise, all they need to do is download the app and register. Once registered, they can launch the app and select “Check-in” to scan the QR code.
This new feature is available on the latest Gerak Malaysia 2.6 version which is available on Google Play Store and Apple AppStore. Thew new app has been improved by allowing you to select English or Bahasa Malaysia for the interface.
