Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is very concerned to help Malaysians through these challenging times. As part of the economic stimulus package announced by our Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the government will work together with TNB to allocate approximately RM1 million in discounts on electricity bills during MCO – starting 1 April until September.
As part of a stimulus package to ease the burden on the people during MCO, TNB is giving up to 50% off to domestic and residential customers

TNB will automatically give the discount to Malaysian households electricity bills starting April until September (six months). However, the discount rate depends on how much electricity a household use each months. Here’s how it will work:
- Up to 50% discount is given to domestic and/or residential customers who use up to 200kWh (RM43.60) of electricity per month.
- 25% discount for households who use 201kWh-300kWh (RM43.70-RM77.00) of electricity per month.
- 15% discount for households who use 301kWh- 600kWh (RM77.10-RM231.80) of electricity per month.
- 2% discount for households who use more than 600kWh (RM231.90-and above) electricity per month.
The discount rate will be based on the total amount of electricity used in a month
The discount will be given based on the monthly electricity bill. It will be automatically calculated by TNB. However, if your bill extends from March to April, the discount will be pro-rated for the months of April. Meaning, you would still pay the full amount for March.

The sectors include hotels operators, travel agencies, local airlines offices, shopping malls, convention centers and theme parks.
For other industrial, a 2% discount is given to all residential, commercial, industrial and specific agriculture customers.
