Hawker Chan is the “cheapest Michelin-starred meal in the world”

Located in the middle of busy Chinatown near Petaling Street, Hawker Chan has been opened its doors to the public since December 2019. The original shop in Singapore was awarded one Michelin star by the Michelin Guide Singapore back in 2016.

As Malaysians love their chicken rice, Hawker Chan just wants to give customers and another option for chicken rice. Besides, a restaurant specialising in soy sauce chicken is something unique and difficult to find here in Malaysia. With the newly opened outlet in KL, customers get to savour the original recipe without the need to travel overseas.
He learned how to cook soy sauce chicken recipe from a Hong Kong Chef

Born in Ipoh, Chef Chan Hon Meng left school at the age of 15 and his hometown to Singapore in search of work. He learned under a Hong Kong chef on how to develop the soy sauce chicken recipe. Fast forward, in 2009 he started Liao Fan Soy Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle in Chinatown Complex Food Centre.
Try their famous Hong Kong-inspired soy sauce roasted chicken

Hawker Chan’s signature dish is the famous Hong Kong-inspired soy sauce chicken. It’s worth to try for fans of chicken rice. Marinated with a soy sauce blend with strong hints of herbal flavour and secret ingredients, the chicken meat is so tender and smooth-textured.
A plate of soy sauce chicken rice will make for a simple yet fulfilling lunch or dinner. You can pair the roasted chicken with Thai rice with sauce or garlic fragrant rice, egg noodles or even rice noodles. Whatever your choice is, it won’t spoil the perfect balance tasted of the soy sauce.
