1.7 million road users can now enjoy an 18% reduction in toll rates at all PLUS-operated highways nationwide starting Feb 1. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Finance on Jan 23, on the implementation of the 18% toll reduction.

The 18% toll reduction will take efffect at all PLUS-operated highways covering the North-South Expressway (NSE), the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), the Malaysia-Singapore Second Crossing (LINKEDUA), the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH), the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE), the East-Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) and the Penang Bridge (PB).
The toll reduction will remain unchanged and will not be increased until 2058
The toll reduction covers all Passenger Vehicles (Class 1), Taxis (Class 4) and Buses (Class 5). For the time being, the toll fares for lorries (Classes 2 & 3) will remain unchanged and will not be increased until the end of the PLUS Concession in 2058.
On top of that, road users using the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza at the Malaysia-Singapore Second Crossing Highway (LINKEDUA) will also enjoy the toll reduction in addition to the off-peak discounts for all Passenger (Class 1) and Taxi (Class 4) and Bus (Class 5) vehicles.
The toll reduction also comprises Passenger and Taxi (Class 2) and Bus (Class 3, 4 and 5) vehicles at the Penang Bridge Toll Plaza. For those working and residing in Penang and Class 2 vehicles registered with PLUS will benefit the 18% reduction together with the existing 20% discount.
Based on calculations made, the government would see a total savings up to RM1.1bil for this year
Starting Feb 1, motorists travelling from Jalan Duta to Alor Setar will only need to pay RM45.50 compared to RM55.50 previously, which shows a great reduction by RM10. For those travelling from Jalan Duta to Skudai will only pay RM38.50 from RM47.00.
