Our country’s queen of rock, Ella or her real name, Nor Zila Aminuddin is proving that she’s a Jane of all trades. Apart from being a singer, she is now venturing into the agriculture business. The local celebrity owns chilli farm and proudly called herself as “chilli queen”.
Ella owns a 1.2 hectare chilli farm in Shah Alam
Turning her passion in farming, Ella with the support of her husband, Azhar Ghazali decided to start chilli farm. The farm is located in Puncak Alam, Shah Alam.
According to Ella, agriculture brings positive outcome
The 53-year-old singer said it’s the right time for her to venture in farming as the business is rewarding due to the high demand. The iconic singer also said that she wants to prove to the younger generation that agriculture has a lot of benefits, especially in profit.
She invested RM 150,000 in chilli farm
The couple invested RM 150,000 in their chilli farm when they first started two years ago. The 1.2 hectare farm can produce a maximum of 24 tons of chillis.
Ella who always has ‘green fingers’ said she plants chillis twice a year and it takes six months for the farm to produce fruit.
The chillis are sold in local supermarkets
The chillis are sold in supermarkets, sundry shops and also at the Kuala Langat Farmers’ Association. Even some restaurants also buy their chillis. Both shared that they have done research on vegetable farming before deciding to venture in the agriculture business. And they agreed that chillis are easy to handle and harvest.
