Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof emphasised during the launching ceremony on Thursday that there was none entrepreneurship conventions comprising all races were held in the country before to ensure that all citizens were entitled to inclusive rights. “MUN 2019 is the first ever entrepreneurship programme that is more inclusive, more definitive with clearer goals and objectives,” he said.
With the theme of “Entrepreneurs as The Heroes of Malaysia’s Economy”, the first day of MUN 2019 showed positive outcome with over 10,000 visitors who came to join various entrepreneurial activities conducted by selected agencies throughout the programme.
Promoting entrepreneurship programmes
Datuk Dr Mohd Hatta Md Ramli said the programme (MUN 2019) is to promote the development of entrepreneurship to achieve DKN 2023 objective on making Malaysia as an Entrepreneurial Nation by 2030. ” We invite several icons, entrepreneurial figures to share experiences with visitors to instill an entrepreneurial culture within themselves and aspire them to venture in entrepreneurship thus creating more job opportunities. This is the main content of the National Entrepreneurship Policy which is to create more job opportunities,” said Datuk Dr Mohd Hatta Md Ramli.

14 pavilions promoting 5 major clusters
Among the programmes are exhibition that consists of 14 pavilions with over 3,000 entrepreneurs coming from different states in promoting 5 major clusters which are F&B, products innovation and homestays. The programme involves collaboration with MED and other ministries and agencies. The exhibition will run throughout four days from 10 am to 10 pm.
Besides, visitors can attend a business matching as well as several workshops with entrepreneur icons organised by INSKEN. The highlight of the programme would be the women convention that recognise the role of women in entrepreneurship. Awards for the iconic women entrepreneurs also will be held on 30th August.
MUN 2019 is expecting RM20mil in revenue with over 3,000 participations of local entrepreneurs and 50,000 visitors throughout the four-day event.
