2D Bubble Tea Cafe in Sunway Geo is the latest eatery that is, in fact, has already achieved viral status in Klang Valley area – and undoubtedly, the cafe is unique.
1. A newly-opened cafe in Sunway Geo Avenue
Bubble tea is the craziest trendy drink right now and people are willing to queue for hours (it’s not a joke). While other bubble tea cafes level up the game in introducing new and fresh drink menu, 2D Bubble Tea Cafe took the different road. The cafe concept looks exactly like a real sketchbook!
2. All artwork was drawn by hand
The concept of the cafe is trippy and pretty amazing. If you have seen pictures of the 2D cafe circulating around social media, do not question it. It is real and you can even go to the cafe to witness it.
A talented artist named Yuu is the mastermind behind the concept. She was gifted in arts (no doubt) and the team engaged Yuu for the whole concept of the 2D cafe. The idea is to make the ‘concept of the comic book effect’ looks so real.
3. It took only 1.5 months to paint everything
Yuu and another assistant took only 1.5 months to hand paint everything from the furniture, ceiling and wall. The lines on the furniture aren’t straight – it was purposely made to make it looks more real. They imported pure white furniture as their base to paint on.
4.The cafe has a unique theme
2D Bubble Tea has a Japanese-Western theme, with tatami seatings and an ‘onsen’ (a Japanese hot spring) which is really a bathtub filled with white balls to stimulate ‘foam’.
5. They offer 5 types of bubble milk
At 2D cafe, you can choose drinks from the five options available. There are brown sugar fresh milk, brown sugar milk tea, brown sugar latte, brown sugar black tea and brown sugar matcha.
The bottles which also has a 2D effect were also designed by the team and specially painted by Yuu.
5. Light meals also available
Besides bubble tea, they also serve bento, croissants, sandwiches, chips and other light food. Basically, food which pairs well with bubble tea.
