Adi Sakinah Omar or Kina has her own story in Jeju which is a source of inspiration and success today. Her company, Jeju Muslim Travel is the only Malaysian tourism company registered and licensed with Jeju Tourism Organisation.

1. Director of Jeju Muslim Travel Company

Adi Sakinah Omar, 29 years old is the director of Jeju Muslim Travel Company – the only travel company in Jeju Island, Korea owned by a Malaysian.

2. Work multiple jobs to earn extra cash

In order to collect pocket money while studying for her Master’s Degree at Jeju National University, she worked multiple jobs as in teaching English, doing henna painting and also becoming a personal shopper prior to starting Jeju Muslim Travel.

3. Fall in love with the beauty of Jeju Island

She first visited Jeju in 2014 with her friends. At that time, she had just finished her degree and was planning to continue her studies in Korea. Finally, she made up her mind to further studies at Jeju National University taking Art & Design.

Since Kina and her husband were married while she was in Jeju, so they decided to settle there and her husband focused entirely on the newly started tourism business.

4. Instagram followers asking for travel tips

Since she studied and settled in Korea, she kept receiving inquiries from her Instagram followers asking about travel tips to Jeju Island. She then got the idea to be a Jeju tour guide. As a tour guide, she learned a lot about the travel business industry. After several months, she started selling the complete travel package. Hence, Jeju Muslim Travel was born.

5. Attracted AirAsia to open a direct flight to Jeju

Jeju Muslim Travel started with only eight customers a month, then reached 250 customers per month. Jeju Muslim Travel was the main reason for AirAsia to open a direct flight from KL to Jeju. Kina Omar received enquires from AirAsia to know more about the travel business in Jeju and decided to open a direct flight as the travel company received many customers from Malaysia.

Since the opening of direct flights to Jeju, the business is growing day by day. Kina and her husband thinking of an idea on how to attract customers to book a travel package. Her husband planned to start a car rental service and thankfully, the demand for the rental car never stop.

6. Even Tun M used her travel service

Since Jeju Muslim Travel is the only Malaysian tourism company registered and licensed with Jeju Tourism Organization, she received a lot of customers from Malaysia including Tun M himself. Due to the affordable package price and complete package, many customers are satisfied with the services provided.

6. To be opened in other countries around the world

Kina Omar is planning to open the Muslim Travel Company to other countries around the world. If everything goes well, it will start this year. Among the destinations in the planning are Turkey, Iceland, New Zealand, Australia and Balkan.

Currently, the company receives more than 2,000 customers each year and the workers are 10 people to date. Kina is really happy to be able to work with her husband and she never thinks of it as work as they always travel with the customers.
