1. Chief executive officer of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF)
Khazanah Nasional Bhd has appointed Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan, 48, as its managing director following the resignation of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar. He is currently the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) that was appointed to the position on April 16, 2013.
2. He was the MD of Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB)
Prior to joining the EPF, he was the managing director of Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd, where he was responsible for developing KL Sentral into one of the main commercial centres in Malaysia.
3. Began his career as a Legal Assistant
Shahril Ridza began his career as a Legal Assistant at Zain & Co from 1994 to 1996. He then became Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Trenergy (M) Berhad / Turnaround Managers Inc (M) Sdn Bhd from 1997 to 1998.
4. Involved in the corporate recovery and credit restructuring
Datuk Shahril Ridza previously served Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd and was involved in corporate recovery and credit restructuring following the Asian financial crisis of 1997.
He is at present a non-executive board member of Media Prima Bhd, Malaysia Building Society Bhd, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd, MRCB and IJN Holdings Sdn Bhd.
5. Cambridge and Oxford University graduate
Datuk Shahril Ridza holds a Master of Arts (First Class) from Cambridge University and Bachelor of Civil Law (First Class) from Oxford University and has been called to the Malaysian Bar and the Bar of England and Wales.
