MyCar, a Malaysian-based transport company aims to be the top e-hailing service provider in Malaysia with the opening of several new branches nationwide.

MyCar which recently opened branches in Kota Kinabalu and Langkawi is set to open a branch in Kuching and Johor Baru soon in order to meet the needs of MyCar customers and drivers.

1. MyCar app

MyCar app provides on-demand passenger transport services across major cities of Malaysia. They offer customers an ease of taxi booking using the taxi-booking application.

With a wide range of options to choose among, passengers can choose from Economy, MPV Compact, Premium, MPV Premium, Cab or Now for any nearest available car.

2. Owned by Platform Apps Sdn Bhd

E-hailing service MyCar which began operating on Feb 1 in the Klang Valley is owned by Platform Apps Sdn Bhd, a technology company founded by Mohd Noah Maideen.

MyCar is 100% owned by Malaysians and is set to expand overseas soon.

3. No. 2 e-hailing service in Malaysia

MyCar is the fastest growing e-hailing platform after Grab with 66,000 registered drivers and over 1.2 million customers to date. They have generated RM17 million sales during their first-year operation from 1.8 million jobs completed.

The e-hailing service dominates about 10 to 20% of the market share in Malaysia’s e-hailing service industry with most jobs recorded in Klang Valley of about 15,000 per day.

4. Chosen e-hailing service provider for official functions

MyCar Marketing Team with Minister of Ministry International Trade And Industry, YB Darrel Leiking.

Although MyCar only recently celebrated its first anniversary of operations, it has attracted the attention of the public as well as government and private organisations and has been chosen as the official e-hailing service provider for official functions like Royal Floria Putrajaya 2018, MAHA 2018 and LIMA 19 to be held in March.

5. Competitive commission for drivers

Unlike competitors who charge about 25% commission on its driver, MyCar has fixed its commission at 15%. They also will implement what they call the ‘driver wallet’ which will be a prepaid system and minus the 15% commission from there.

MyCar started operations with 2,000 drivers and about 40 rides a day and has since grown exponentially. To date, they have an accumulate of 66,000 drivers and 1.2 million passengers.
