2. Her open letter to all employee went viral with over 43,000 shares on Facebook
Charity wrote an open letter to all of her employees reminding them of what’s truly important in life. In her letter, she encouraged her employees to put family needs above their clients if the need arose.
3. She believes that it is vital for keeping employees happy and healthy
Here’s the excerpt of the letter:
“I hired you in the hope that you can be a good provider to your family, not to take you away from them, to give you additional skills not take your parental skills away from your kids, to make you a better person not just for the company but all the more for your family.”
4. Not all employers will understand her principles in leadership
For Charity, she would rather close the company than seeing her employees miss their kids’ school activities due to a meeting. She believes that family is your home first before the company gave you a second home. Here’s another excerpt from the letter:
“So when the time comes that you will have to choose between attending your sons and daughters’ school activities over a client’s needs if you have to choose between your wife or your husband’s needs over mine as your boss, —please choose them.”
5. “Your work can wait. I can wait”
As a boss, she has always believed that a person who’s happy at home is also happy at work. For your family, the home that you built, once broken, will never be the same again. You will never be the same again.
So she advised her employees to go home, be home. “Your work can wait, I can wait,” she wrote, signing off the post with, “Love, Boss.”
