Some may remember Mat Redho or his real name Mohd Redha Rozlan for winning Fear Factor Malaysia back in 2014. But recently, his name is known to all of us as he has made Malaysia proud in the international arena when he emerged as the winner at the Ninja Challenge League Finals 2018 (NCL) in Australia, beating 95 other contestants.
1) Mat Redho completed the obstacles in only 5 minutes and 13.09 seconds
NCL is an international competition that gathered all winners from America Ninja Warrior, Germany Ninja Warrior, Australia Ninja Warrior, Singapore Ninja Warrior and other international ninjas to be the Grand Champion. This is his first entry in NCL and surprisingly he won!
2) He beat Jake Murray, the winner of the first-ever UNAA championship in 2016 and also the winner of America Ninja Warrior.
Despite not having high expectations after finishing eighth in the second half, Mat Redho outperformed the winner of America Ninja Warrior, Jake Murray with a 10-second difference. Making Jake as a second winner.
3) To top it off, he was awarded the ‘Last Man Standing’ award.
He was the only contestant to complete all obstacles in the finals. NCL consisted of a three-stage gauntlet with different levels of difficulties. Some of the obstacles include the Salmon Pipe, Unstable Bridge and Flying Bar.
4) He had to dip into his own savings to travel to Australia for the tournament.
Not many know his sacrifice of having to fork out his own money to enter the competition. He even used hashtag #menagih #pengemis on his several posting on Instagram to give hint that he really needs sponsorship to enter the competition.
Last year, the Ministry of Youth & Sport sponsored him but perhaps this year they had to focus more on other events. He had to use his own saving to cater the transportation and accommodation costs.

5) His family is his source of strength since day one and never stop believing in him.
Mat Redho was accompanied by his wife and children throughout the competition. His wife, Nureain and kids, Mecca and Medin are his backbone and the reason why he pushed himself to win the competition.
6) He’s lucky to have kids who love to do outdoor sports!
Remember a video that went viral when Mat Redho did the ‘Rope Swing’ with his daughter? He exposed his kids with extreme sports since young and they mostly did all kind of outdoor activities together.
Keep on making us proud! You’re a real ninja.
